2024 Retained Does

A shift in goals

2024 was our year for change.

We made the decision to downsize our Nigerian herd and retain more minis.

The boys enjoy showing commercial/cross does in 4H/FFA because they are taller and they don’t have to bend over quite so far.

We also absolutely love the milk production and personalities of the midsize goats.

Yes we did retain a couple Nigerians but you will see our herd slowly shift focus to a more homestead friendly focus.  The Nigerians are still amazing and we plan to continue breeding those for quality little milk goats, just on a smaller scale, focusing on specific lines and quality.

Dixie Dairy Deedles Standrum

Standrum

Standrum

Standrum is a compact little goat, and 75% Nigerian.

Her dam is Mordol, our F2 mini alpine and sire is Zeus(Nigerian)

She is a 4th generation on our farm from our original Dezzy line.  (Dezzy—>Kadence—>Mordol—>Standrum

Dixie Dairy Vincapervinca

Dixie Dairy Vincapervinca

Dixie Dairy Vincapervinca

This doe is Nubian/Alpine/Nigerian. We feel she’s a perfect combination for all our goals, which include mid size goats who are easy keepers, long easy to milk teats with good production over long lactations. We want does who kid easily and are friendly. Just over all, perfect goats ❤️

This girl is from Petunia X Jethro our Mali son.

We have high hopes of this girl being the next herd favorite milker like her sister Daisey

Dixie Dairy M Reebok

Reeboc

Reeboc

This little one is literally a Boc clone with blue eyes! Which is why we called her Re-Boc. Because she’s like a Boc all over again!

She was a line breeding, of Moon(JafarXEwok) to Boc. So granddam to grandson and it really stamped in our sweet Boc.

This is likely Bocs last daughter and we are thrilled to be adding her to our herd.  We are hopeful she will show as well as Ewok and have teats as nice as Boc.

Nathan will be showing her

Dixie Dairy M Celeste

Celeste

Celeste

Celeste is a Patchouli daughter, from Moon.  She is combining two of my favorite alpines!!

She is 75% alpine.

Dixie Dairy J Flitchee

Flitchee

Flitchee

We loved Moon and his sister Padme so much last year that we decided to repeat the breeding so we could have an Ewok daughter.  She actually gave us triplet does!

Flitchee is one of those girls Nathan chose to keep

Dixie Dairy M Dandelion

Dandelion

Dandelion

Dandelion is an interesting cross little doe!

She is out of Daisey(Nubian/Alpine/Nigerian) by Moon(Alpine Nigerian)

we are excited to see how well she milks!! Daisey is our farm favorite “perfect” goat.  She has a lot to live up to!
